Recently, Sinopec's first photovoltaic off-grid proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysis water electrolysis hydrogen production test plant designed and developed by Shigongjian Zhongyuan Design Company was successfully put into operation
.
This is the first time Sinopec has combined a photovoltaic power generation unit with proton exchange membrane electrolysis water to produce hydrogen, which can directly convert solar energy into hydrogen energy with zero
carbon emissions.
The plant is part of the results of the "Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) Hydrogen Production and Supporting Technology and Device Research" project of petroleum engineering and technical service company contracted by Zhongyuan Design Company, and the hydrogen production test device is the core content of
the project.
The new device directly uses the direct current of photovoltaic off-grid power generation to electrolyze pure water into hydrogen and oxygen, realizing the real-time conversion of solar energy to hydrogen energy, and the purity of hydrogen reaches 99.
999%.
The field application results show that the hydrogen production of the device is stable, the hydrogen production meets the design requirements, and the power consumption per standard cubic meter of hydrogen is less than or equal to 4.
