Recently, Singapore's national water authority PUB has issued a tender for the deployment of a pair of floating PV projects
in the Bedok Reservoir and Lower Seletar Reservoir.
It is understood that PUB's tender will look for the detailed design
of the lower Seletar Reservoir 1MW floating PV project and the Bedok Reservoir 1.
5MW PV system.
The projects will cover an area of 1 hectare and 1.
5 hectares, respectively, with each system accounting for less than 2%
of the total reservoir area.
Floating solar panels will be installed outside
the current water activity areas of both reservoirs.
The Bedok Reservoir PV Project will supply solar energy to a pumping station that pumps raw water from the Bedok Reservoir to the Bedok Water Plant for treatment and tap water to the domestic water supply network
.
The PV project at the Lower Seletar Reservoir will provide energy for the Lower Seletar pumping station adjacent to the reservoir, pump raw water into the Lower Seletar Water Plant for treatment, and transfer raw water between water sources for operational purposes
.
