    The Singapore Food Authority (SFA) announced on July 27, 2022 that Loch Grocer Pte Ltd and its owner Lee Chee Hoon were each fined US$2,000 for engaging in food processing activitiesat unlicensed premises
     
    In July 2021, during an inspection of the premises of Loch Grocer Pte Ltd, SFA officials found that the company carried out food processing activities (slicing fish) on the premis.
    The premises were issued a refrigeration licence but were not approved to carry out food processing activiti.
    As a result, the SFA seized seafood (about 723 kilograms) and packaging materia.
     
    Illegal processing of fish in unlicensed facilities poses a food safety ri.
    In Singapore, all meat and/or fish processing facilities must be licensed and must meet SFA requirements and food safety standar.
    These licensed agencies also undergo routine inspections by the S.
    Those found guilty of illegally processing fish can be fined up to $10,000, or jailed up to 12 months, or bo.
