Signal Energy, a leading general contractor of engineering, procurement and construction services to the renewable energy industry, has announced notice of the first utility-scale solar contract in Australia
.
Back in November 2018, the company's Australian subsidiary, Signal Energy Australia, Pty Ltd, was selected by ESCO Pacific to build a 175MWdc/133MWac Finley solar farm
in New South Wales, Australia.
Signal Energy Australia has partnered with Canadian Solar which will supply solar modules
for the construction of the project.
The President of Signal Energy said: "We are very excited
to establish ourselves in the Australian renewable energy market.
Signal Energy has achieved great success in the U.
S.
by optimizing and executing solar projects to create value for our customers, and leveraging our experience internationally has proven to make a lot of sense
.

It is understood that the construction of the project began in December 2018 and will be completed
in 2019.
The solar power plant will be built near Finley, New South Wales, Australia, on an area of about 1,000 acres
.
Canadian Solar 1500V High Efficiency KuMax modules (CS3U-P) will install more than 490,000 units on single-axis tracking systems
.
When completed, the solar power plant will generate enough electricity to meet the needs of more than 90,000 households and emit more than 400,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions
per year.
Canadian Solar Chief Executive said: "The Australian market has been very receptive to our arrival and we thank ESCO Pacific for their confidence
