Greek grid operator ADMIE IPTO Holding said Monday that a consortium of businesses formed by Siemens and Italian grid company Terna has been awarded a 370 million euro ($410 million) contract to build substations and converter stations
for power projects connecting Athens to Crete.
It is understood that the consortium formed by Siemens and Terna and the consortium of GE-NARI-MYTILINAIOS both submitted binding offers last year to complete two converter stations and one substation
for the submarine interconnection project within 36 months.
Finally, after the completion of the technical evaluation on March 13, 2020, the consortium formed by Siemens and Terna successfully won the bid

Last year, ADMIE IPTO selected Prysmian and Nexans to supply submarine cables, and Greek Cable and Anquet to build onshore cables to connect converter stations in Athens and Crete to submarine cable systems
