Key underlying metabolic pathways of three bacterial candidate new phyla

With the rapid development of high-throughput sequencing and metagenomics technology, the diversity of the bacterial tree of life has been greatly expanded, which further establishes the important position of bacteria in the field of ecology and evolution

Recently, Li Meng's research group from the Institute for Advanced Study of Shenzhen University published a research paper entitled Genomic insights into versatile life>

This paper combines metagenomics, bioinformatics and evolutionary biology and other analytical techniques to deeply explore the global ecological distribution characteristics, physiological and metabolic diversity characteristics and evolutionary history of three new bacterial phyla.

Associate Researcher Zhang Xinxu and Associate Researcher Liu Zongbao of the Institute for Advanced Study of Shenzhen University are the co-first authors of the article, Professor Li Meng is the corresponding author, and the Institute for Advanced Study of Shenzhen University is the first completion unit
