Sinochem News News on February 24, news came from the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Lingang New Area Management Committee that Shanghai Port will become the first port in China with liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering capacity.

As the first comprehensive local regulation of the Lingang New Area, the "Regulations of the Lingang New Area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone" was voted and passed by the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress and will come into force on March 1

Article 17 of the "Regulations" states that "enterprises in the Lingang New Area may, upon approval, carry out pilot operations for the bunkering of new types of fuels such as LNG for ships on international voyages

"This means that the Lingang New Area can pilot new fuel bunkering services such as liquefied natural gas for international ships
