Leaf is an important part of rice plant and is the main place for photosynthesis
Recently, Xue Hongwei's research group from Shanghai Modern Seed Industry Collaborative Innovation Center and School of Agriculture and Biology, Shanghai Jiaotong University published a research paper online in The Crop Journal entitled "Rice OsIAA6 interacts with OsARF1 and regulates leaf inclination", revealing that OsIAA6 interacts with OsIAA6- The OsARF1 module inhibits auxin signaling and is involved in the regulation of rice leaf inclination
The researchers obtained a mutant arr1 that was insensitive to auxin and increased leaf inclination by screening the library of rice T-DNA insertion mutants.
This study demonstrates that OsIAA6-OsARF1 is a functional module involved in the regulation of leaf inclination in rice, which provides clues for the function elucidation of a specific combination of IAA-ARF, and also helps to understand the mechanism by which auxin and BR synergistically regulate the formation of leaf inclination
