Recently, Dong Tao's team from the School of Life Science and Technology of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the State Key Laboratory of Microbial Metabolism revealed that environmental factors determine the survival mechanism of bacteria in the competition mediated by the type VI protein secretion system (T6SS)
Figure 1.
Microorganisms exist in almost all ecological niches on the earth, ranging from the macroscopic carbon and nitrogen cycle of the earth to the disease and health of each individual.
In this study, it was found that environmental factors such as LB solid medium from different sources significantly affected the killing effect of T6SS effector proteins in Vibrio cholerae
This study also revealed that bacteria can sense subtle changes during culture
