Recently, "Nature" published online with the title "Amyloid fibrils in disease FTLD-TDP are composed of TMEM106B not TDP-43", which was published online by Cao Li, associate professor of the Bio-X Research Institute of Shanghai Jiaotong University, and David UCLA.
Figure 1 Cover of Nature article
Amyloid fibrils (amyloid fibrils) are aggregated products generated by the liquid-solid phase transition of proteins, and are closely related to human diseases, especially neurodegenerative diseases, such as Aβ and tau fibers for Alzheimer's disease, α -synuclein fiber for Parkinson's disease and so on

(a) Immunodiagnostics (top) and negative-stain electron micrographs (bottom) of extracted amyloid fibrils from brain sections of FTLD patients in this study
To uncover the link between FTLD and amyloid fibrils, the work attempted to extract amyloid fibrils from the brain tissue of 40 donors with FTLD-TDP, a major subtype of FTLD, in 38 of them.
