Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) has reportedly signed a cooperation agreement with Siemens Gas Turbine Technologies to assemble wind turbine nacelles
in Russia.
It is understood that SGTT is a gas turbine manufacturing joint venture owned by SGRE's majority shareholder Siemens, which owns a 12,700-square-meter plant
in the outskirts of St.
Petersburg in western Russia.
SGRE said that from August 2019, the facility will cover an area of 4,000 square meters for assembling wind turbine nacelles, hubs and drivetrains
.
SGRE will supply Italian developer Enel with turbines with 291MW of capacity that it acquired in a June 2017 wind power purchase in Russia
.
"SGTTT's core business is the production and service of large gas turbines
for Russian power plants," said the CEO of SGTT.
From the very beginning, we have developed SGTT to meet local market needs and provide our customers with the best solutions
.
