Banks Renewables, a subsidiary of British family property and energy company Banks Group, said it had refinanced
seven existing wind farms in northern England for £82 million.
Seven wind farms in the UK were refinanced for £82 million
The refinancing agreement is an agreement
with NAB and Santander in Spain.
Both banks were involved in financing £210 million of wind farm projects last year
.
Five of the seven wind farms were built with external funds and two using the company's capital reserves
.
Banks Renewable said the deal would help fund
its next phase of development.
In particular, the funds will be used for a number of projects, including the company's long-term plans for onshore wind farms, as well as other projects across the wider Group
.
Banks Renewables currently has 224 MW of onshore wind farms in operation and under construction, and 190 MW of wind capacity
at various stages of development.
