Scientists at the Chinese Academy of Sciences have created the first model of HIV infection in beeping monkeys

researchers from Kunming Institute of Zoology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences recently created the first model of HIV-1 infection with Bee ping top monkey AIDS, which means that China's AIDS research has made another major progress. The results of this study have been published in
journals.
Zheng Yongtang, a researcher at the Kunming Institute of Zoology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, infected beeping monkeys with HIV-1 standard strain HIV-1NL4.3, and created the first model of HIV-1 infection with beeping monkeys. After several years of research, the experimental results show that HIV-1 can replicate and form latent infection at low levels in beeping monkeys, suggesting that HIV-1 infection of beepinding monkeys may be a better model of latent infected animals.
the early 1990s, researchers discovered that flat-top monkeys were the only old continental monkeys that could be infected with HIV-1. For the first time, a team led by Zheng Yongtang has discovered a new TRIMCyp fusion protein in flat-top monkey cells that does not limit the replication of HIV-1, revealing the molecular mechanism of flat-top monkey susceptible to HIV-1.
, the lack of suitable animal models for direct HIV infection is one of the bottlenecks that seriously restricts the major breakthrough in AIDS research. Therefore, the establishment of a primate animal model directly infected with HIV-1 is of great significance to the study of the pathogenesis of AIDS, drug and vaccine research and development.
the flat-top monkey distributed in China is the bee-flat-top monkey, which is a protected animal at the national level. Nanping top monkey in Europe and the United States as experimental primates are widely used in biomedical research fields, but beeping top monkey is rarely reported. In order to develop beeping monkeys into new experimental primates and creating models of major diseases such as AIDS, Kunming Animal Research Institute has introduced hundreds of beeping monkeys, built China's largest experimental animal population of Beeping top monkeys, and carried out a series of studies.
