They used a drug called PHD inhibitors to treat models of menstrual mice, suggesting that PHD inhibitors can "trick" the uterus into considering low oxygen levels and promoting endometrial repair. Their experiments suggest that PHD inhibitors may be used to speed up endometrial repair in women, thereby reducing menstrual bleeding and other related symptoms, although further research is needed to verify the effectiveness of the method in the human body.
