Schwann cells (SCs) are glial cells of the peripheral nervous system that protect and repair nerve cells

After nerve damage, Schwann cells undergo extensive morphological and expression changes and acquire significant repair features

In this study, the authors used a human peripheral neural primary hrSCs culture model to analyze their transcriptome, secretory group, and cell surface proteins, look for pathways and markers associated with innate and adaptive immunity, perform phagocytosis assays, and monitor T cell subpopulation activation in allogeneic cocultures
