Clean energy company Scatec Solar announced that it has signed an agreement with Ukrainian developer Rengy Development to develop a 47MW solar project
in the Mykolaiv region of southern Ukraine.
Scatec Solar, which will provide EPC and O&M services, will own 51 percent of the project, while Rengy Development will own the remaining 49 percent
.
The projects will be realized under the country's feed-in tariff (FiT) scheme, and the three plants are expected to generate around 58GWh of electricity
per year.
The public land will be leased for an extended period of time, and the plant is also expected to deliver electricity
over a 10-year FiT period.
Rengy Development has built and commissioned a portfolio of 70MW of solar projects in Ukraine
.
The total capital expenditure for the project is estimated at €52 million (approximately $60.
5 million).
Project financing is led
by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The financial closure and start of construction are expected by the end of 2018 and commercial operations are due
in 2019.
The CEO of Scatec said, "We are very happy to work with strong local Ukrainian companies to further strengthen our position

Rengy Development has a proven track record in the field of solar energy in Ukraine, ensuring the effective realization
