According to the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC), Norway exported seafood worth NOK 34 billion ($3.
4 billion ) in the first quarter of 2022, up 22 percent from the same period last year
    .

Renate Larsen, CEO of NSC, said: “The first quarter saw strong global demand for Norwegian seafood leading to record export values
    .
The month-long war added logistics and complexity and costs, and Norwegian exporters were impressed by the way to supply the world with sustainable seafood from Norway
    .

“However, in the first quarter, Norwegian seafood exports were at their lowest level in six years, and the record export value was driven by higher prices for
    many products .
Salmon prices have remained high, and so far cod and pollock prices have also hit record highs.
    All -time high
    ," Larsen said
    .

Larsen emphasized, “The growth in exports must also be accompanied by continued increases in costs related to energy, fuel, shipping and other factors used for environmental and production inputs across the value chain
    .
The closure of Russia’s airspace has complicated logistics, and the rise of the epidemic in China has led to Changes in the pattern of commodity circulation
    .
In March, the EU market share increased
    .

In the first quarter, Norway exported NOK 1.
8 billion worth of seafood to China, an increase of NOK 668 million compared to the same period last year
    .

In the first quarter, Norway exported 283,200 tons of salmon , down 5% year-on-year; the export value was NOK 23.
2 billion, up 33% year-on-year, and the average price of chilled whole salmon rose from NOK 54.
    29/kg to NOK 78.
    37/kg
    .
In March, the export volume of salmon was about 98,300 tons, down 8% year-on-year; the export value was NOK 8.
    5 billion, up 19% year-on-year
    .

NSC analyst Paul Aandahl pointed out that the loss of exports from Ukraine and Belarus, which accounted for 2% of Norway's exports last year, had less of an impact on salmon sales
    .
But high prices and rising freight rates in March forced some Asian shares to move to Europe
