SABIC, a globally diversified chemical company, today launched a new member of the TRUCIRCLE™ family of recycling solutions and services – the first automotive-grade resins with physically recycled content
    .
Among them, SABIC® T2E-3320EH PP compound is a high-flow, low-emission, talc-filled polypropylene (PP) compound; XENOY™ T2NX2500UV resin is an unfilled, UV-stabilized polycarbonate (PC) and polyolefin Ethylene phthalate (PET) blend; XENOY T2NX5230 resin is a mineral filled PC/PET blend

    .
All three materials contain up to 29% recycled content and offer performance comparable to virgin resins, giving automotive customers new options to help them meet their sustainability goals

    .

Abdullah Al-Otaibi, General Manager of SABIC's ETP and Market Solutions Division, said: "The new TRUCIRCLE material will help extend the life of waste plastics, increase the value of post-consumer products and drive sustainable development in the automotive industry
    .
Following the TRUCIRCLE material , SABIC will continue to introduce a range of resins with physically recycled content for automotive interior and exterior applications

    .
They will also complement other sustainable materials, such as the certified renewable products with bio-based content that we are developing

    .
These initiatives demonstrate SABIC's determination to accelerate its circular economy strategy

    .
    "

    Lower carbon footprint

    Lower carbon footprint

To support new applications in the automotive sector, SABIC has introduced new products in three sizes
    .
Among them, the SABIC T2E-3320EH PP compound has the characteristics of strong rigidity, low emission and high heat resistance, and is suitable for applications such as non-visual air conditioning (HVAC) system components in automotive dashboards, automotive interiors and engine parts

    .
According to an internal Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), SABIC T2E-3320EH PP contains 25% recycled PP compounds, so its carbon footprint can be reduced by 24% compared to the corresponding virgin PP compounds

    .

SABIC's XENOY T2NX2500UV resin contains 21% recycled PET
    .
This material has excellent heat resistance, impact resistance, dimensional stability and low shrinkage, and is suitable for painting body outer panels, spoilers, fuel filler caps and trim parts

    .
It is also UV stabilized for paint-free application

    .
SABIC's internal life cycle assessment data shows that this specification reduces global warming potential (GWP) by 11% and cumulative energy demand (CED) by 12% compared to virgin material

    .

SABIC's XENOY T2NX5230 resin contains 16% mineral filler and 29% recycled PET
    .
Like XENOY T2NX2500UV resin, the product's excellent properties make it a potential solution for coating body panels, trim and other components

    .
    with XENOY T2NX2500UV

Its higher stiffness and lower coefficient of linear thermal expansion (CLTE) than resins make it an excellent choice for the production of roof spoilers and body exterior trim
    .
In addition, both XENOY grades have high flow, which helps increase production
