Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) has announced that it will cooperate with Dongfeng Motor, a major Chinese truck manufacturer, to develop a new composite plastic hybrid solution for the production of on-board tool boxes

It is understood that SABIC's hybrid solution combines STAMAX resin with thermoformed composite inserts

Compared to the steel traditionally used in truck toolboxes, SABIC's composite plastic hybrid solutions offer greater design options, enable integrated production of parts, and avoid secondary operations that can add cost and hinder mass production

In addition to truck kits, STAMAX resin hybrid solutions are suitable for automotive applications including tailgates, seats, front-end modules, and battery housings for electric vehicles
