Rosatom, Rosatom, said today that Russia and Ethiopia signed an agreement to lay the groundwork for nuclear science and technology and the construction of nuclear power plants
.
The agreement was signed
by Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev and Ethiopian Technology Minister Getahun Mecuria.
Alexey Likhachev said in a statement: "The plan identifies concrete steps
to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of peaceful uses of atomic energy.
The two sides have identified joint actions
within the framework of the Nuclear Power Plant Construction and Nuclear Science Construction Project Center.

In June 2017, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that establishes the legal framework
for nuclear security cooperation.
The day after signing the agreement with Ethiopia, Rosatom signed another planned cooperation agreement
with the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
It is a two-year agreement that also envisages the establishment of nuclear science centres and the training of Congolese technicians
.
Rosatom said it has six reactor projects inside Russia and another 36 outside Russia
.
