DSM announced that it will work with GIGA Green, Toxnot and Chenyang Water Paint to fully digitize its high-performance plant-based resin DiOnre ® to promote transparency in the chemical composition of the construction industry. This collaboration sets a global precedent for the full integration of product data, making ingredients transparent across the value chain and enabling market participants to choose greener solutions. Through this partnership, DSM becomes the first supplier of coating resins to promote transparency of product composition in the construction industry, while at the same time ensuring that DSM effectively implements the far-reaching Sustainable Development Goals
.
Dsman will use Toxnot's data management and evaluation platform to record and disclose Thermo ®'s compositional information, which will then be transmitted via Toxnot to ORIGIN, the world's largest open data center for building materials, where it will be integrated with other important data such as chemical emissions reports, carbon footprint information, product images, colors, dimensions, etc. Finally, the integrated information will be made available to architects, interior designers and the general public through building information platforms such as Mindful MATERIALS and product selection software such as MATTER. Relevant information is critical to the project team's selection of the most appropriate product, while minimizing the risk of adverse factors.
"We believe that in the future, the evaluation of raw material composition will be key when selecting any product," said Sjoerd Dijkstra, Sustainability Marketing Manager, DSM Coatings Resins. "As the demand for green resin solutions continues to grow, we want to make it easier for our customers to access and disclose product composition information and to help all stakeholders in the value chain find and use green materials more easily than before."
, chief executive of Toxnot, said: "End users often know nothing about materials such as resins contained in coatings. DSM is changing this ® through Diane Reed, making the main ingredients in paint and paint public. "The chemical industry has been slow to respond to market demand for healthy alternatives, mainly because of the complexity of the problems the industry is facing today." RAefer Wallis, CHIEF Executive Officer of GIGA Green, added. "And DSM is leading the market changes by using basic chemicals that have minimal or no impact on health."
DSM partner, Chenyang Water Paint, is a pioneer in environmentally friendly coating solutions and will also disclose ingredients for plant-based coating solutions developed by DSM DSR®SP-8407. "We are excited to participate in this partnership, not just for products, but for the industry as a whole," said Marin, general manager of Chenyang Brand Operations Center. "As an industry leader, we understand that an open and transparent presentation of the health characteristics of DSM bio-based coatings and water-based coatings will have a positive impact, particularly in the Chinese market."
at this year's China International Coatings Exhibition CHINACOAT, DSM further deepened its commitment to a range of far-reaching sustainability goals for its coating resin business. These goals were released earlier at the European Coatings Show. Today, DSM is the first to promote transparency in product composition, with the ultimate goal of promoting healthy, sustainable solutions among customers, partners and the industry as a whole.
