Peter Armitage, Johns Hopkins University, Yoshinori Tokura, Institute of Physics and Chemistry, Japan UCLA professor and professor Wangkang Long cooperation, in "Nature materials" ( Nature materials ) "Prospects" (Perspective) column published online entitled "spintronics and magnetic study of electricity topological insulator" ( topological and spintronics Magnetoelectronics ) review paper, review, discuss and prospect the research of spintronics and magnetoelectrics based on topological insulators
.
Topological electronic materials (such as topological insulators, magnetic topological insulators, etc.
), due to their special topological properties and potential application prospects, have attracted widespread attention in electronics and related fields in recent years and have produced a series of important research results
This article reviews several important physical phenomena realized on topological insulators, including spin-orbital moment, magnetic proximity effect, antiferromagnetic order and topological inter-order interaction, formation of topological spin structure, etc.
(Figure below)
.
At the same time, it also analyzes the state of axon insulators and topological magnetoelectric effects, discusses some controversies, and proposes several feasible research plans and directions.
The spin accumulation caused by the current on the surface of the topological insulator (a) and the spin Hall angle extracted from the results of different experimental methods and material structures (b)
