According to the latest report by EnAppSys, a British power analysis company, renewable electricity is expected to surpass fossil fuels as the UK's main source of electricity generation by 2020

EnAppSys released its annual market review and forecast earlier this month, which outlines electricity data from the UK electricity sector (excluding Northern Ireland)
for 2018.
Coal and gas in 2018?? In total, gas power stations generated 130.
9 terawatt hours (TWh), while renewables generated 95.

Electricity generation in the UK's renewable energy sector also increased by 12.

EnAppSys believes that with the further increase in the renewable energy sector, the level of fossil fuel power generation will continue to decrease, EnAppSys predicts that renewable energy generation will reach 121.

Crucially, we also see flexibility introduced into the system and new opportunities
presented.

The cost of offshore wind is also falling and will drive further development and adoption
