Xie Yuyuan was born in Beijing on April 19, 1924.

Xie Yuyuan, mainly engaged in the research of innovative drugs, has conducted long-term research in the fields of schistosomiasis drugs, metal poisoning detoxification drugs, radionuclide drugs, paralysis agitans drugs and other fields and discovered some new drugs with excellent effects; in the field of natural products, all Synthesized the antihypertensive alkaloid liensinine and antibiotic griseofulvin with the absolute configuration consistent with natural products; researched the synthesis of new chelating agents, and found quinine for plutonium, thorium, and zirconium among multiple series of new compounds Other radionuclides have an excretion-promoting effect, and calcium acylphosphine has an excretion-promoting effect on radiostrontium, both of which exceed the efficacy of drugs reported abroad.
