PureCycle announced the first product made from its recycled polypropylene technology
.
This plastic shower is made from ultra-high-purity recycled polypropylene, and these recycled surprises are recycled from waste from the dumpsters of major stadiums in the United States
.
PureCycle uses proprietary technology licensed from Procter & Gamble (P&G) to recycle waste polypropylene into high-purity recycled polypropylene that can be used in the manufacture of consumer, automotive, construction and industrial products
.
“There is no doubt that consumers expect companies to provide sustainable products, but more importantly, ecologically driven companies want true sustainability, not a simple 'greenwash' (i.
e.
corporate camouflage) become 'friends of the environment', trying to cover up social and environmental damage in order to preserve or expand their market or influence - editor's note)
," said PureCycle CEO Mike Otworth
.
He said that what PureCycle is trying to do is not only to provide a sustainable plastic, but also to provide brands with the opportunity to dig deeper into sustainable development projects, "We hope that every enterprise driven by ecological development will participate in us.
The sustainable plastics revolution to collectively tackle the waste plastic crisis
.
Plastic products can and should be made from materials that can be recycled indefinitely,
” added Mike Otworth
.
PureCycle also announced that it is now the official plastic recycling partner of the Cleveland Browns, an American football team based in Cleveland, Ohio, USA
.
The team is the first sports team to partner with PureCycle and its PureZero waste program to improve plastic recycling during training and game days throughout the year
.
According to reports, with its own technology, PureCycle will recycle the stadium's commemorative trophy - removing almost all pollutants, color and odor to create ultra-high-purity recycled plastic
.
PureCycle currently collects polypropylene waste from Cleveland Browns home games, recycles it at its flagship Ironton, Ohio facility, and converts it into ultra-high-purity recycled plastic that contributes to the sustainability of stadium and team operations
