Cerebral small vascular disease (cSVD) is the main cause of vascular cognitive impairment
.
Cerebral white matter hyperintensity (WMH) is the most prevalent characteristic lesions , which lesions may interfere with brain white matter tracks and further damage with cerebral link between the gray matter areas
Cerebral small vascular disease (cSVD) is the main cause of vascular cognitive impairment
Recently, a study published in the journal Radiology explored whether there is an association between WMH and cognitive function in the adult population, and whether this association is mediated or explained by structural connectivity measures .
In addition, by evaluating the WMH volume of a specific area and the relationship between a specific area and cognitive function, the potential local white matter abnormalities are studied, which provides a new way for people to further understand the relationship between cSVD lesions and cognitive dysfunction and to understand its basic metabolic mechanism.

Recorded each patient's total WMH and especially given area volume , network metrics, cognitive scores , as well as demographic, cardiovascular and life>
In this study, the prospective type 2 diabetes were Maastricht structure and population studies of diabetes spread scattered tensor MRI examination (December 2013-February 2017)
A total of 5083 subjects (average age 59 years; 2592 males ; 1027 diabetic patients)
The map connection map qualitatively depicts the white matter tracts between 100 automated anatomical marker map regions.
According to the Fazekas score, these regions have the largest (absolute) difference in white matter tract volume between groups
.
The red line indicates that the white matter hyperintensity group has a lower white matter tract volume (Fazekas score ≥ 1 vs 0), and the blue line indicates that the white matter tract volume is higher
