.
The value of the contract, including special equipment, is around EUR 170 million
.
Prysmian selected Vard to design and build the new cable-laying vessel
The purpose-built vessel for advanced subsea operations aims to be the most powerful cable-laying vessel on the market, with installation capacity in depth of more than 2,000 meters and cable load capacity
for large cable rotating platforms.
Cable-laying vessels were developed to perform complex installation operations, supported by a variety of buried systems, including heavy-duty plows and seakeeping systems, and worked to reduce the environmental footprint
.
The laying vessel is 172 meters long and 34 meters wide, with a crew of 120 people, designed
by Vard Design.
Construction
is expected to begin by the end of 2018.
Delivery of the cable-laying vessel is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2020
.
Several specialist subsidiaries of the Vard Group will also be involved in the project through the
delivery of equipment and solutions.
