    Prysmian has been awarded a new contract from Ørsted WindPower to supply submarine array cables
    for the Hornsea Project Two offshore wind farm.

    Located 89km off the Yorkshire coast, Hornsea Project II will be able to provide green renewable electricity
    to more than 1.
    3 million homes once operational in 2022.

    Prysmian will be responsible for the design, manufacture, supply, termination and testing
    of the inter-array submarine cable system.
    The system will connect 110 of the 165 wind turbines and offshore substation platforms
    .

    The contract involves the supply of over 300 km of 66 kV EPDM insulated array cables, single-wire armoured systems and all related accessories
    .

    All submarine cable conductors will be produced at Prysmian's Centre of Excellence in Wrexham, Wales, UK, while armouring and assembly processes will take place
    in Drummen, Norway.
    The cable will be delivered
    in 2021.
