According to information, Praxair, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Linde Engineering Company (Linde), has authorized the construction of a world-scale hydrogen plant in Louisiana, and it will supply it under a long-term contract with a large local refinery.

The new plant will be integrated with Praxair's already extensive production network in Louisiana through the Mississippi River Corridor hydrogen pipeline system

? Praxair will build, own and operate a steam methane reforming unit (SMR), which will have a daily processing capacity of more than 170 million cubic feet of high-purity hydrogen

The new plant scheduled to be put into operation in 2021 will become one of the largest hydrogen production units in the United States

? Linde Engineering was selected to provide the most advanced process design and manufacture the core components and modules of the factory
