According to reports, German company Linde (Linde) and American rival Praxair (Praxair, PX) reached an agreement on a potential merger on Tuesday, which could create the world's largest industrial gas company with a combined value of US$66.

However, Linde also reminded that the current agreement is non-binding and the transaction may not be completed in the end

Linde and Praxair terminated the previous round of merger negotiations in September, partly because Linde’s labor representatives were dissatisfied with plans to move the combined company’s headquarters from Europe to the United States

Negotiations between the two parties resumed in early December, and the week before that, Linde confirmed reports from foreign media that Praxair re-contacted the company with an adjusted proposal
