According to an analysis by the Polish Sustainable Energy Foundation (FNEZ), Poland's installed offshore wind capacity in the Baltic Sea is expected to reach 8 GW
by 2035.
FNEZ believes that by 2020, Poland's installed offshore wind capacity is expected to exceed 4 GW
.
After that, offshore wind will become one of the important pillars of
the Polish economy.
However, FNEZ also stressed that to achieve this, Poland needs to create stable legal and market conditions to stimulate investment
.
In addition, the construction of submarine cable connections is one of
the prerequisites for helping to realize the development of offshore wind.
To achieve these development goals, Poland needs to build 2-3 GW of submarine cable connections
.
In general, FNEZ believes that in the period 2025-2035, Poland's offshore wind power will usher in a breakthrough development, providing a key role
for Poland's energy transition.
Currently, FNEZ is designing different development options for the Polish energy sector, including offshore wind and transmission systems
