Recently, Indonesian national oil company Pertamina said that it is working with
NYK to expand maritime energy transportation.
Pertamina's shipping subsidiary, Pertamina International Logistics, and NYK have signed a long-term strategic cooperation agreement
in Tokyo.
Pertamina said that ensuring the safety of energy transportation such as oil has become a top priority, and the trend of decarbonization also requires substantial cooperation
between the two sides.
Indonesia is an oil and gas exporter, and with the country's remarkable economic growth, the demand for energy transportation will expand
further.
In addition to the shipping business, the cooperation also includes decarbonization businesses
such as floating storage regasification units (FSRUs) and carbon capture and storage (CCS).
Joki Philnandi, CEO of Pertamina International Logistics, said that including the investment of NYK and the joint investment in new business, the cooperation between the two parties is expected to reach 500 million US dollars
.
