As of November 18, the two atmospheric pressure gas recovery units in Oman's Zone 5 oilfield have been running smoothly for three weeks, and the results of carbon reduction and efficiency improvement have been revealed
.
The atmospheric pressure gas recovery unit was put into operation on October 18 and October 27 respectively, marking that the oilfield in Oman's Region 5 has achieved full utilization of associated gas and full extinguishing of conventional torches, and achieved the goal
of extinguishing conventional torches in 2027 required by the Oman government five years ahead of schedule.
The company also became the first oil company in Oman to achieve this goal, and energy conservation, emission reduction and green development have reached a new level
.
According to reports, at present, the daily processing capacity of associated gas in Oman's 5th zone exceeds 1.
1 million cubic meters, and the amount of torch burning has been reduced by more than
80%.
About 40% of the treated dry gas is used for power generation to meet the electricity demand
of oilfield production and life.
Surplus dry gas is exported and sold, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and natural gas condensate (NGL) products are added, which has achieved project efficiency growth
while reducing emissions.
This year, the company has retrofitted the atmospheric flare remaining at two processing stations in the oilfield, installing compressors to supercharge the water treatment system and the natural gas discharged from large tanks to the natural gas processing plant to realize the recovery and utilization of atmospheric flare gas, and the oilfield flare is only used
for emergency or temporary production fluctuation adjustment.
In addition, the company has recently carried out a series of energy conservation and emission reduction work, such as the construction of natural gas power plants, the application of solar street lights, the recovery and utilization of atmospheric pressure gas, the optimization and efficiency of power supply systems, the improvement of greening in camps, and the online accounting of carbon emissions, which has been highly appreciated
by the Oman government.
