In order to protect Peru's domestic shoe production, the Peruvian National Institute for Intellectual Property Competition and Protection (Indecopi) has extended anti-dumping duties on footwear products imported from China until 2026
.
With the exception of flip-flops and sandals, anti-dumping duties
are levied on all types of footwear products from China if the import price is lower than the local price of similar products.
The Peruvian government's anti-dumping duties on China are aimed at maintaining fair competition between domestic and imported footwear products and avoiding harm
to local producers.
On November 30, 2021, Peru began to implement anti-dumping duties on footwear products in China and decided to extend its validity until November 30,
2026.
