From 0-24:00 on April 5, 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 24 new confirmed cases, including 9 imported cases (4 in Shanxi, 2 in Shanghai, 2 in Guangdong, Jiangsu 1 case), 15 local cases (all in Yunnan); no new deaths; no new suspected cases.

On the same day, 18 new cases were cured and discharged, and 214 close contacts were released from medical observation.

There are currently 180 confirmed cases imported from abroad (including 2 severe cases) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on April 5, according to reports from 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, there are 244 confirmed cases (including 2 severe cases), 85,449 cured and discharged cases, and 4,636 deaths.

31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 17 new cases of asymptomatic infections, including 15 imported from abroad and 2 locals (both in Yunnan); 13 confirmed cases (1 imported from abroad) on the same day ); 4 cases were released from medical observation on the same day (all imported from abroad); 304 cases of asymptomatic infection were still under medical observation (277 cases imported from abroad).

A total of 12,620 confirmed cases have been notified from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
