Recently, Taiwanese commercial PV manufacturer and downstream project developer New Solar Power Company (NSP) said that its Taiwan Changhua 100MW solar system project has selected "Glory BiFi" single-weight PERC bifacial modules, which is the largest factory
to use bifacial modules to date.
It is understood that the state-owned power company Taiwan Electric Power Company (Taipower) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the 100-megawatt photovoltaic power station in the Chuanghua Coastal Industrial Park in Changhua County, which included the installation of about 339,000 solar panels for it, at a cost of about $211 million
.
NSP noted that Telecom has won the bid for the project and that NSP has signed an exclusive module supply agreement with the developer to use double-sided modules, automatically using glass/glass formats, which can cope with local harsh environments, including high salinity and humidity and sandblasting effects
caused by the winter monsoon.
The module manufacturer also noted that the project's use of bifacial modules is expected to generate about 5% additional output
compared to conventional solar modules, in limited space and in adverse weather conditions.
Typically, such bifacial modules can produce an average of 12% more power output
than conventional single-sided modules.
