Sinochem News recently, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) announced that Norway's oil production in 2021 will be 102 million cubic meters (642 million barrels) and natural gas production will be 113 billion cubic meters, both slightly higher than the previous year.

Investments in the development of fields and new discoveries on the Norwegian continental shelf totaled around NOK 150 billion in 2021, a figure slightly lower than the previous year, the NPD said

In addition, the NPD has mapped carbon dioxide storage on the Norwegian continental shelf in 2021, with an estimated 80 billion tons of carbon dioxide storage space, equivalent to 1,500 years of emissions from Norway's current levels
