Nepal Telecom Subisu Cablenet has partnered with Finnish supplier Nokia to expand its fibre network to facilitate FTTH deployment

Nokia said in a press release that it will provide GPON solutions for Nepalese telecommunications company Subisu Cablenet, helping Subisu expand its network and reach new customers who have access to "ultra-wideband" applications and services

The Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) has selected Subisu to set up an FTTH network for eight districts in Province 2, which will provide subscribers with digital TV, IPTV and high-speed broadband services
of up to 1Gbps.
Subisu said the deployment of the new fiber network is in line with the government's vision for a digital society, with the government planning to achieve broadband coverage of more than
90 percent by 2020.
