NKT Cable Company NKT is preparing to install power cable systems for the SuedLink and SuedOstLink cable projects and has contracted with a local subcontractor to support the upcoming 525 kV HVDC power cable project
    .

In 2020, NKT acquired a cable supplier for the SuedLink and SuedOstLink projects, enabling renewable energy to be transported from northern to southern
    Germany.
NKT has now announced three local subcontractors to support
the logistics and cable installation of HVDC power cable systems for these projects.

"As a major supplier of several German energy corridor projects, we are proud to support Germany's transition
to renewable energy with our extensive experience and proven power cable technology.
By selecting a subcontractor, we took an important step forward
in installing the power cable infrastructure required for Energiewende.
Alexander Kara, President and CEO of NKT, said
    .

NKT has a strong footprint in Germany and an important part of the power cables for the Energy Corridor project will be manufactured and tested
at the high-voltage plant in Cologne.
In addition to the qualification process for subcontractors, a local presence in Germany is also part of the selection criteria, as this will not only increase the efficiency and sustainability of the project, but will also contribute to the German economy and the creation of jobs
    in the country.

The German Energy Corridor project consists of three long-distance transmission lines for transporting renewable energy from the northern region of the country to the southern region
    .
The transmission lines of the 525 kV HVDC power cables are key to
achieving Germany's long-term strategy of switching to renewable energies by 2050.
