Nkt Cable has signed a contract of more than €145 million with Orsted, formerly Denmark's East Energy Company, to supply a 220 kV high-voltage AC XLPE offshore output cable system
of more than 190 km for the Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm in the UK.

The Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm will be the world's largest wind farm, with a capacity of 1.
    4 GW, providing green electricity
    to more than 1.
    3 million households.

The cable system provided by NKT for Hornsea 2 without installation will include three submarine cables, representing 50% of
    the overall project.
Submarine cables connect wind farms to reactive power compensation platforms that provide electricity
    to land.

Michael Hedegaard Lyng, President and CEO of Nkt Cable, said, "Hornsea 2's cable contract not only emphasizes that we provide leading-edge and proven technology
    .
It also points out that our long-standing customers such as Orsted value our expertise and ongoing dialogue in order to find the best solution
    for both parties.
The offshore wind market continues to offer us attractive prospects in the coming years, and our ability to provide turnkey solutions from cable design to installation and service is a prerequisite
for staying at the forefront of customer needs.

This huge contract award is a testament to Act's strong footprint
    in offshore winds.
Although project profitability is lower than the existing order backlog due to the current unfavorable balance in the cable manufacturer market, nkt maintains its leading position
in this important renewable energy market.

Export cable for Hornsea 2 will begin production
at Anquete in Karlskrona, Sweden, this autumn.
The Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm is expected to be fully operational
    in 2022.
