    Spontaneous spinal epidural hematoma (SSEH) is an uncommon but serious disease with a high incidence


    We retrospectively studied patients admitted for SSEH at 3 academic neurosurgery centers from January 2010 to June 2021


    A total of 105 SSEH patients with an average age of 51.


    Surgical decompression was performed in 74 (70%) cases


    Poor prognostic factors for SSEH may include thoracic location, use of anticoagulants, severe neurological deficit on admission, sphincter dysfunction, and rapid progression
