Recently, Professor Yang Yumin of the Key Laboratory of Neuroregeneration of the Ministry of Education of Nantong University, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor Gu Xiaosong of Nantong University, and Associate Researcher Li Guicai "Research on Regeneration" as the title, published a paper in "Science-Progress"
.
This research provides an important strategy for the development of a new generation of functional artificial nerve implants
At present, the number of patients with peripheral nerve injury caused by diseases, traffic accidents and natural disasters in China is close to 20 million, and the number is increasing at a rate of about 2 million per year
.
After peripheral nerve injury, axon necrosis, myelin decomposition, and neuron death can interrupt the nerve conduction function, cause limb movement and sensory dysfunction, seriously affect the patient's physical and mental health, and cause a huge family and socioeconomic burden
The research successfully constructed a neuro-simulating microenvironmental scaffold with anisotropic micro-nano composite topology and loaded with nerve growth-promoting peptides through the combined application of electrospinning, micro-nano processing and preparation and surface biochemical technology of biomaterials, which proved that each The anisotropic micro-nano composite topological structure can be stably combined with the nerve growth-promoting polypeptide, and the biomimetic anisotropic micro-nano composite topological scaffold exhibits good stability
.
The research team further found that the scaffold can effectively induce the directional growth of Schwann cells and up-regulate genes and proteins related to myelination, and proposed the most important Wnt/β-catenin pathway, ERK2/MAP pathway and TGF related to it.
