    The Winnemucca Native American tribe living in northwestern Nevada has recently joined a class-action lawsuit alleging that the U.


    The planned lithium mine near the Nevada-Oregon border, known as the Sackpaths Lithium Mine, is being developed by Canadian company Americas Lithium Corp.


    Sackpas was known to local Indian tribes as "Rotten Moon" after a massacre that took place there in 1865


    Last year, the Burnspaiute Tribe, the Reno-Sparks Tribe and several Native American advocacy groups filed a lawsuit over the lithium mining plan


    A federal judge in Nevada, however, dismissed a lawsuit by Native tribes last September, saying the National Historic Preservation Act did not give them land titles


    "The Biden administration needs lithium, and the Trump administration wants to extract everything, so they've been going through the expedited aisle to get the facts right before people know what's going on," Falk said


    Thereafter, the plaintiff in this case appealed to the Court of Appeal


    Not only Indian tribes, environmental groups and local farmers are also currently suing the Sackpas lithium mine project, alleging that the project will seriously damage the local ecology
