The curative effect of convalescent plasma on COVID-19 is not yet clear
COVID-19
Recently, the top medical journal Nature Medicine published a research article in which researchers conducted an open-label, randomized controlled trial of COVID-19 adults who received oxygen inhalation and recovery plasma treatment within 12 days after the onset of respiratory symptoms ( NCT04348656)
The study included a total of 940 patients who were randomized, of which 921 patients were included in the intention-to-treat analysis
In multivariate analysis, each normalized logarithm increase of neutralization or antibody-dependent cytotoxicity can reduce the potential harmful effects of plasma (odds ratio (OR)=0.
It can be seen that for COVID-19 patients, compared with standard treatment, infusion of convalescent plasma may lead to worse clinical outcomes
