IL-22 has dual function in the tumorIn the short term, il-22 is produced to protect cells from genetically toxic stress, while uncontrolled IL-22 promotes tumor growth;TGF-beta 1 promotes differentiation of Th17 cells, which are known to be the main source of IL-22, but the effect of TGF-beta signal transduction on the production of IL-22 in CD4-T cells is controversialrecently, researchers found that the presence of IL-17-IL-22 plus cells and TGF-beta 1 in colorectal cancer increased compared to normal adjacent tissues, while the frequency of IL-22-producing cells did not changetherefore, TGF-beta signal transduction in CD4-T cells (especially Th17 cells) promoted the appearance of IL-22-produced T-cells, thus promoting tumor development in miceHowever, IL-22 yield T cells do not rely on TGF-beta signal transductionin addition, the study showed that TGF-beta promoted the production of IL-22 in Th17 cells through AhR induction and PI3K signal transduction
