Mowi releases second quarter forecast, EBIT doubles to 320 million euros

Mowi,the world's largest salmon
producer, issued a forecast for the second quarter, with salmon production (leading to gutting, HOG) of about 103,000 tons, a decrease of 5,000 tons compared with the same period last yea.
Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of around 320 million euros were the best in history, more than double the same period last year (137 million euros) and surpassing the 207 million euros in the first quarter of this ye.

According to Mowi, the EBIT per kilo of salmon farming in Norway, Canada, the Faroe Islands, Scotland and Chile was €95/kg, €00/kg, €80/kg, €60/kg and €05/kg respective.
At the same time, EBIT for the Consumer Products segment increased from EUR 16 million to EUR 18 million, and EBIT for the Feed segment decreased from EUR 3 million to EUR 2 milli.

In the second quarter, salmon production declined in all Mowi producing areas, and prices rose sharp.
Production in Norway is about 60,000 tons, Scotland 13,000 tons, Chile 14,500 tons, Canada 10,500 tons, and the Faroe Islands and Ireland 5,000 to.
