Mongolia's Ministry of Energy has issued an invitation to pre-qualify project developers to compete for tenders
for the construction of 5 MW solar + energy storage facilities.
The Uliastai solar array, developed with financial support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), is part of the Renewable Energy Upgrade Program, which aims to deploy 40.

at the end of 2018.
According to ADB, the country's total theoretical power generation capacity is 1,158 MW
.
However, due to aging power stations, the actual power generation facilities are only 969 MW
