Japan's Mitsui Corp.
will reportedly install two wind turbines
this year in the Primorye region of eastern Russia.
According to the terms of the contract, the turbines will be installed on Popov Island and will help solve the problem of energy shortages on the island
.
At the second stage of the project, additional turbines with a total capacity of 20 MW
can be built elsewhere in Primorye.
It is revealed that the investment amount has not yet been announced, and it is estimated to be between
$50 million and $60 million.
Last year, Mitsui put three turbines
in Kamchatka with partners including NEDO, Komaihaltec and Fuji Electric.
