The US downstream energy company Marathon Petroleum Corporation announced last Thursday that it has broken ground on North Dakota's first purpose-built soybean processing plant
.
The $350 million Green Bison soybean processing plant will have the capacity to process 150,000 bushels of soybeans per day and produce 272 kilograms of refined vegetable oil per year, which Marathon Oil will use as feedstock to produce about 341 liters of renewable diesel per year
.
The plant is expected to start production in 2023
