According to Malaysian Energy Minister Yeo Bee Yin, the third round of Malaysian Large Scale Solar (LSS) tenders will add 500MW of capacity, details to be announced
in January 2019.
Yin said the projects could be worth as much as RM2 billion ($477 million).
While many developers are aware of the steady pace of the Malaysian market and there is a clear path to 500MW auctions on a regular basis, many expect LSS 3 to be more generous in capacity levels due to the success of the first two rounds, the most recent of which was awarded 563MW in December 2017
.
It was revealed that major utility TNB recently connected the first phase
of the country's largest PV project to date.
